Subject: Re: [Bboa-members] Re: WFC
Westbound University closing. I got stuck on this, 30 minutes N.B. on Frontage Road and 60 more at The Seabreze, so more like an hour and a half Many more there waiting. The whole situation was beyond control, as the Frontage Road intersection has no capacity for four, actually 5 counting the right turn, cars U turning and heading for S.B.Frontage from the most further north lane, normally the right lane westbound, of Eastbound traffic, much less holding up all four ways for the pedestrians and bikes. These could have been crossed over to the east side an eighth mile westward, without holding up the outbound flow It appears there was no forethought or plan. It was mentioned that rather than have the Festival end at say five o'clock, make it seven thirty and have an orderly trickle out towards the end, as people get tired and their kids get hungry and have enough. Also as N.B. Frontage was useless, it could have been closed off at Ashby and both lanes used S.B. Again no planning or forethought by the BPD/Traffic/Public Safety Management!
Also the Safety element could not be addressed, fire and ambulance westbound. Just lucky no heart attacks/strokes at the event or a Hotel/restaurant/boat. cbob F and G
