Dear Pegasus crew and volunteers,

Here is the report from last Sunday Dec 3 voyage with a couple of photos,
from Tim McAnulty:

"Paul and I were the only crew; we were accompanied by an enthusiastic group
of sailors-to-be: my wife Diana, our kids Sebastian, Sofia, Emil, Cameron,
and their grandparents (Diana's parents) Bill and Gerd Lapson. Everyone
thoroughly enjoyed the day, with the children alternating between the
bowsprit, the helm, and eating. We sailed up to Angel Island, where, at the
shipping channel we encountered a tug boat that gave Pegasus the biggest
wake-wave roller coaster ride I've ever experience. Cameron was on the
bowsprit, and afterwards kept asking for a repeat. We motored through
Raccoon Straights and explored a bit of the Sausalito waterfront between
turning south towards San Francisco. An extremely strong ebb-tide that
would have prevented a timely return from the Gate kept us from going under
the bridge. Instead, we turned off the motor and took our time viewing the
S.F. waterfront. On returning to the Marina, Paul and I were very conscious
of the low-low tide and s!
teered Pegasus as close to the middle of the channel as possible. As luck
would have it, we timed the low-low tide perfectly, right in time to get
stuck just as we turned south from the center entrance. We were stuck for
about 45 minutes. At that time, Paul was able to back us out of the
entrance and we made for the south entrance, having seen several other boats
enter with no problems. However, half-way across the front to the
breakwater, Pegasus got stuck again. This stop was much shorter,
approximately 15 minutes while we backed our way out of the mud. Paul
ultimately selected a course slightly farther out from the breakwater and we
were able to continue through the south entrance back to K-dock without
incident. All in all, between the beginning mechanical problem and ending
in the mud, it was a great experience for all participants. We thank you
for the opportunity to enjoy Pegasus on a fine fall day."

Pegasus topsides are being prepped for painting. We have a prospective new
partner for youth voyages in 2007, in addition to Shorebird and the
Boosters. More soon!

Also attached, a photo of the SF police boat in hot pursuit of a 2 guys
without PFDs paddling in Clipper Cove, and tangling their prop in the anchor
line of a moored yacht. No comment.

Finally, here's one that Paul found on the web of Captain Mark sailing the
Boosters to Ayala in July. Just to remind ourselves that there's warm
weather ahead.

Thank you all,

Peter Hayes
