[Bboa-members] A response to Dan Augustine

I just became aware of the bboa a couple of months ago. At that time there
was a request for someone to attend the Waterfront Commission Meeting and
not much else. I agree with Laura, other than the monthly meeting request I
haven't heard of any concrete plan of organization.
I will be happy to attend tonight's meeting and voice whatever we feel needs
to be addressed, however, I believe I read an email a few weeks ago that
stated the commission doesn't have to answer any questions put to it. I am
new to this so if those of you in the know can give some direction I will
carry the torch and ask the questions or do whatever we need to do to get
them to be accountable for our dollars. It sounds like it is the same old
bureaucratic BS to me. I don't live in Berkeley but it's the same story you
put people in a position of power, whether elected or worse - appointed and
they forget who they are supposed to be serving.

I'd be happy to be more active, although I can't make tonight's
meeting -- and up until now, I've never really gotten much of a sense
of something to be active IN? and I'm not actually a berkeley
resident, but I'm happy to attend occasional meetings and sign things
and make phone calls if needed...

thanks,
