I apologize for the delay in response, I've been a bit busy.
 
thank you for the information Tom. Our Maint. Supervisor budgets new dock carts every FY and since we are near the end of the year, I need to meet and discuss the request with him, and make sure FY 07 monies are available in his budget to order additional carts. Each dock, regardless of amount of slips are assigned 2 carts and in the event one is missing, took a dive, or is up on telegraph, we try to retrieve them, or replace. Dock cart ettiquette at the marina is an on-going problem, but I agree that since O-dock is the largest single entry, I'll advocate on the behalf of the boaters to order additional ones. 
 
We're thinking the new barrier at N-lot access may be similar to spinnaker way on the north end with a keyed swing gate so ER vehicles can access if needed.

Yesterday the live a boards on the O Dock had a group breakfast followed by a late afternoon BBQ. We discussed various issues surrounding the dock. The main concern recently is the lack of availability of the dock carts. 
 
As you know the O Dock is the largest dock in the Marina, with over 180 boats. The dock is heavily populated by BYC members, racers and live a boards. 
 
Although we have more boats than other dock dock in the Marina, we have only two dock carts. In comparison the N Dock with around 20 boats also has two dock carts. There doesn't appear to be any logic in the assignment of carts to the various docks. 
 
Now that summer is on us, O Dock has become incredibly busy, especially on weekends. The Memorial Day Holiday weekend was no exception and it was near impossible to find an available dock cart. This is becoming the norm on the O Dock. 
 
So with that said, can you provide an additional two carts, making a total of four dock carts available on the O Dock. 
 
Also it appears the road block into the O Dock parking is working, except that the temporary barriers are moved frequently or blown over. Can you move forward with purchasing the larger barriers suggested by the Traffic Engineer?
