Berkeley Boat Owners:

The Berkeley Yacht Club is holding it's Annual Wheeler Regatta this weekend,
which includes a number of fun events at the Club House. Some of the
highlights are Friday Night Oysters, Texas BBQ on Saturday and a
All-you-can-eat Breakfast on Sunday Morning (See below or go to:

We have a few updates for our wonderful Wheeler Weekend.  All information is
now current at www.WheelerRegatta.com <http://www.wheelerregatta.com/>, and
the highlights are shown below.   Bobbie Tossi is still accepting race
applications until Friday, and the forms are available at the website.



Summary of Updates:



·        *Friday afternoon and evening* – *Oyster Bar* and *2 for 1 Happy
Hour Drinks* at the BYC Bar, with complete Sailing Instructions available.
  We will be serving oysters fresh and Rockefeller.  Most of us recognize
Kathy Pickup's immense culinary talents; she and Chuck are preparing the
Oysters both Friday and Saturday with help from Jeanette Lakness King and
her hardy crew of shell-shocked-shuckers.  It should be a lot of fun you can
watch or participate with the decorating crew.

·        Saturday morning 8:00 OCSC will be hosting a complimentary pre-race
*continental* *breakfast* in the BYC Bar.  This is open to all racers and
Club members.  Come meet the OCSC instructors who will be serving the meal.

·        Saturday afternoon:  *Free margaritas* for the racers, *Free
appetizers* for everyone, Oyster Bar, and at 6:00 we will have a down home
Texas BBQ (click for our politically incorrect
menu<http://www.wheelerregatta.com/saturdaymenu.htm>),
in the BYC tradition with a heaping table of side dishes and grill your own
meat.   The margarita bar is sponsored by Pineapple Sails and the appetizers
are sponsored by Cree & Julie of Berkeley Marine Center.  West Marine is
sponsoring the Live Jazz Band.

·        Saturday afternoon: *Silent Auction.  *We have some great auction
items: *One week stay in Maui,* self inflating PFD from West Marine, flare
gun kit from West Marine, overnight & brunch at DoubleTree in the harbor,
and many more items.**

·        Sunday Morning – 9:00 All you can eat *breakfast*: pancakes, bacon,
sausage, potatoes, fruit, coffee, & juices – only $5.00.

·        In the afternoon we will have appetizers prepared by Chef Alex Case
and sponsored by Doyle Sails.

·        Sunday *Pursuit Awards: *the top 5 finishers can select from: Haul
& Hang with cleaning from Berkeley Marine Center, self inflating PFD from
West Marine, overnight & brunch at DoubleTree in the Marina, and winch
handles from Schaefer Marine.

·        Thanks to our corporate sponsorship, a portion of our proceeds will
be going to support the Berkeley Community with donations to Berkeley
Boosters – Youth Basketball, and the Battered Women's Program.

If you can't join us for the race, please join us for the parties!  Talk to
your friends, members and non-members, and get everyone to come join the
fun.   Among our guests will be the Mayor, one or more members of the City
Council, the Harbor Master, and representatives from the Berkeley Boat
Owners' Association.  You will be proud to share this experience with your
guests.
